ABOUT US

The University of Chicago Panhellenic Council's purpose is to promote the sorority experience. Our council is comprised of members from our four sororities. We work to create a unique and memorable experience for collegiate women in Greek life. UChicago Panhellenic hosts Primary Recruitment at the beginning of the school year, study breaks each quarter, and various philanthropic or social events.

UChicago Panhellenic is committed to fostering a diverse and welcoming community on our campus and within our chapters. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religious beliefs, national origin, sexual orientation, or physical disability.

FAQs

HOW DO I JOIN A SORORITY?

UChicago Panhellenic runs Primary Recruitment each year, and individual chapters may or may not offer continuous recruitment, or COB, at various times throughout the academic year. Check out our recruitment tab to learn more!

HOW MUCH ARE SORORITY DUES?

Dues vary by chapter, and each is willing to work with members across a broad variety of financial situations. Please do not let cost stop you from joining, and reach out if you'd like to learn more about financial accessibility!

THERE AREN'T HOUSES AT UCHICAGO. WHAT DO YOU DO INSTEAD?

Our chapters host chapter meetings each week on campus, and each has sisterhoods, service projects, and social events throughout the city! Chapter members also live in apartments together throughout Hyde Park, either inter-sorority or inter-Panhellenic.

WILL A SORORITY TAKE UP ALL OF MY TIME?

Not at all! Your time commitment is what you make of it, and our chapter members are involved in various RSOs, athletics, and other activities on or off-campus. That being said, each chapter requires members to attend a base level of events.

WHAT IS THE PANHELLENIC COUNCIL'S POLICY ON HAZING?

The University of Chicago's Panhellenic Council, as well as every one of our four chapters, have a zero tolerance policy on hazing.
