RECRUITMENT FEE WAIVER
Applications for the 2023 cycle are now closed.
Starting in the January 2021 recruitment cycle, and for every Primary Recruitment cycle afterwards, UChicago Panhellenic will offer registration fee waivers as a commitment to our effort to make recruitment more accessible.
For Primary Recruitment in Autumn 2023, the registration fee is $20.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR THE WAIVER?
This is a need-based recruitment fee waiver that is open to students who:

Have never received this fee waiver in previous application cycles.

Meet the NPC eligibility requirement to participate in primary recruitment (undergraduate student who self-identifies as female and has not been initiated in a NPC sorority).

Qualifies as at least one of the following: Pell-eligible, Work-Study eligible, or Odyssey Scholars as recognized by the University of Chicago.
WHAT DOES THE APPLICATION CONSIST OF?

Questions determining an applicant's eligibility as defined above.

250-word short essay question: "Why are you interested in participating in primary recruitment? Do you feel that your financial circumstances might qualify you for a recruitment fee waiver?"

RECOMMENDED: a letter/signature from the applicant's academic advisor certifying the eligibility requirements.
WHY DO YOU RECOMMEND A LETTER/SIGNATURE FROM OUR ACADEMIC ADVISOR?
Your academic advisor can advocate for your financial situation and certify that the eligibility requirements are met!
IF I RECIEVE A WAIVER, DO I HAVE TO COMMIT TO FOLLOWING THROUGH WITH RECRUITMENT?
No, while it is encouraged that you follow through with the recruitment process, you will not be forced to follow through with recruitment if you decide it is not the best fit for you. You will not be required to retroactively pay Panhellenic the registration fee either.
DO I HAVE TO PAY THE RECRUITMENT FEE WHEN I REGISTER ON CAMPUSDIRECTOR IF I'VE ALREADY SENT IN MY APPLICATION?
No! Your application responses are received by Panhellenic, and until decisions are sent out, you will not be required to pay the registration fee out-of-pocket. However, if Panhellenic does not have your application, you cannot waive the registration fee on CampusDirector. You must also use the same email address on the fee waiver application as you do on CampusDirector.
WHAT'S THE TIMELINE FOR THE FEE WAIVER APPLICATION?
Applications open August 1, 2023, at 9AM (same as registration on CampusDirector), and they will close the same day as registration on September 30, 2023. All decisions will be announced by October 2, 2023. Applicants who receive a waiver won't receive an invoice for the outstanding registration fee.
